Honestly, some days it felt like an “insurmountable mountain”, and I didn’t know if I could make it to the top. (Sound a little too familiar?)
But now, 7 years later, I have not only survived…I have thrived.
I matched into my dream residency in family medicine where I served as a chief resident
I graduated in 2015, and I practiced as a hospitalist, as well as a hospital administrator as CQO (Chief Quality Officer)
I felt a calling to pursue Emergency Medicine; so I used my own methods to apply into fellowship at a Level 1 Trauma Center
I completed fellowship in Emergency Medicine in 2022 and started practicing as a Locum Tenens ER physician
I have helped hundreds of IMG’s find their place in the US educational system while frequently giving interviews and speaking as an expert in medicine and all topics related to us (IMGs).

I know your struggle because I was you…
My family and I are originally from Douala, Cameroon, and although I love my home, I eventually moved to the Caribbean during my undergrad. But no matter where I was - I always knew I was destined to become a doctor.
Through a lot of hard work and dedication, I eventually made it to medical school in Curacao, Netherlands Antilles, then transferred to the University of Sint Eustatius School of Medicine. While there, I began the process of applying for residency in the United States, and I learned ALL about how difficult it is for IMGs to get into the programs they want.
I practiced as a hospitalist with an Internal Medicine group in Kentucky. I knew as soon as I saw my first critically ill patient leave the hospital healthy - I was doing what I was called to do. 6 years later, I pivoted to a more instantly gratifying career in emergency medicine.
After being given the amazing opportunities I have in my life, I want others to have the best shot at doing the same. So, I began blogging about what makes a great application, and as they say, the rest is history.
Once my career took off, I found myself receiving numerous requests, from a wide variety of platforms, to speak on my expertise in medicine as well as advice for IMGs.
